SVGTO Mission Statement

We are a regional chapter of the GTO Association of America. We are dedicated to the restoration and enjoyment of the Pontiac GTO, including the preservation and heritage of the Pontiac brand.

Susquehanna Valley GTO was founded in 1995 in York Pennsylvania by a group of local friends and GTO enthusiasts looking to share knowledge and camaraderie with other, like minded enthusiasts. Although we are primarily a GTO organization, we love all Pontiacs and have quite a few members with other Pontiac models. Within our membership we have a truly diverse group of GTOs new and classic, as well as Lemans, Firebird, Trans Am, Can Am, Fiero, G8, G6, and Solstice are all represented. We welcome all Pontiacs to the club and all our events. Membership with SVGTO does not require ownership of a GTO or any Pontiac for that matter, we welcome all Pontiac lovers along with anyone with the love and appreciation of muscle cars and what they mean to the muscle car era.

As a regional chapter of GTOAA, SVGTO membership has grown into a truly regional status. Beginning in the York area, our membership has grown outside these confines to encompass members from New Jersey, New York, all over Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia. SVGTO members can be found at shows all over our area as well as large major shows all over the east coast talking Pontiac and promoting our club and the GTOAA alike. We are always eager to promote SVGTO, GTOAA, and support other local chapters at their shows to help keep the Pontiac community alive and well!

For over a decade we have hosted our very own All Pontiac show in Landisville, PA the 3rd weekend of August. Beginning in 2019, our show has also become the GTOAA East Coast Regional show. This expanded our show to a 2 day event with Friday afternoon events to make it a weekend destination for all things Pontiac. Whatever year or model of Pontiac, we have a class for it!

SVGTO keeps busy all summer attending many car shows, as well as planning cruises, club picnic, and year end holiday banquet. We hold monthly meetings all year and encourage members to attend and share ideas for new events or how to make the ones we do better. We are always open to input from the membership! We also encourage inviting potential new members to our events and/or meeting to see what we are all about. We have a member referral program as well. If you bring in 3 new members that either join GTOAA or are current members within a year, your SVGTO membership the following year is free!

We generally hold monthly club meetings on the 2nd Sunday of the month at 1PM from February through October at the Hillside Café just off of Route 83 (exit 35), to discuss club business, future events, and share ideas for new events and improving club functions. We are always open to member input. In some instances, it is necessary to move a club meeting date to accommodate another event, so it is always best to check with a club officer to verify the next meeting date.

ABOUT GTOAA

The GTO Association of America is an international organization for GTO enthusiasts. There are over 40 chapters across the United States, with our chapter representing the Susquehanna Valley region of Pennsylvania.

GTOAA Mission Statement

To preserve and promote the Pontiac GTO and offer enthusiasts opportunities to share their common interests. We do this by promoting and publicizing the GTO Association of America, our chapters, and our members.

How we do this:

  • We join thousands of GTO enthusiasts through one of our many chapters by participating in shows, runs, tours, and cruises to promote GTO enthusiasm at the local level.

  • Provide an annual subscription to our award-winning magazine: The Legend. Each monthly issue is chock-full of technical information, car features, a classified section, and other information all GTO owners will appreciate. The Legend subscription cost is included with your yearly GTOAA dues.

  • Access to our GTOAA club store, where members can purchase GTO and GTOAA merchandise.

  • Allow members to stay connected with our GTOAA Technical Advisory Staff to help you keep yoru GTO in tip top shape. All years  and body styles of GTO are covered.

  • Special deals and savings through our Vendor Discount Program, being a GTOAA member can save you money!

As an affiliated chapter of the GTOAA, we are covered by 3 million dollars of liability insurance. This is something we could not afford on our own. GTOAA does require all chapters maintain a minimum percentage of SVGTO membership must also be GTOAA members. To maintain this level of membership, SVGTO requires any new member that owns a GTO is required to join GTOAA as well. Non-GTO owners are encouraged to join as well but are not required to. However, non GTOAA member will pay a slightly higher dues rate to cover the insurance assessment we pay to the GTOAA for such members. To learn more about GTOAA, check out their website:  GTOAA.org

SVGTO is proud to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central PA

Throughout the year we collect donations and raise money to donate to the Ronald McDonald House each year at Christmas time. All the proceeds stay local to help families with sick children at Hershey Medical Center, so it helps those in need right here in our area.
